The King's Escape brings the siege-and-escape strategy of Hnefatafl to Highland Gaming Minis' Fjord-Gloam Sagas collection. One player commands the king and twelve defenders; the other commands twenty-four attackers. The armies have different objectives, creating a contest of positioning, sacrifice and carefully timed escape.

THE GAME
For two players. Uses Copenhagen Hnefatafl, a modern interpretation of the historic tafl game family. The illustrated guide covers setup, movement, ordinary captures, the throne and corners, king capture, shieldwalls, exit forts and endings. The Copenhagen rules were developed in 2012 by Aage Nielsen, Adam Bartley and Tim Millar. This is an independent HGM edition, not official museum merchandise.
SUPPLIED CONDITION
All resin pieces are supplied unpainted in grey resin. Painted images illustrate a possible finish. Team roles can be recognised by their sculpted shapes; contrasting paint schemes can make them even easier to follow. Some preparation, removal of small support marks and priming may be needed before painting. Handle detailed resin pieces with care.

Developed through a directed Highland Gaming Minis creative process using AI-assisted concept and design tools. Listing images are design illustrations and show possible painted finishes. The physical components are produced, checked and packed by Highland Gaming Minis in our Inverness studio.

Are these physical miniatures or STL files?
Unless a listing explicitly says it is a digital item, our miniature listings are for physical resin prints. Models are supplied unpainted and may require assembly, cleanup and normal hobby preparation. Scale, base and unit-size options are shown on each listing.
How long will my order take?
Our estimated dispatch time is 1–4 weeks, with delivery time added after dispatch. The current estimate is shown on each listing and during checkout. Every order is printed, checked and packed in-house. Large, personalised or unusually complex orders may require additional production time. Please contact us before ordering if you have a specific deadline.
Do the miniatures arrive painted?
Unless a listing clearly states otherwise, our miniatures are supplied as physical unpainted resin prints. Painted examples are used to demonstrate the sculpt and possible finished appearance.
Will the miniatures require assembly?
Some miniatures are supplied in multiple parts and may require assembly, support removal and normal hobby preparation. Please read the individual listing contents before ordering.
Are bases included?
Base inclusion varies between products and will be stated in the individual listing. Where a base is included, our standard option is normally a plain plastic base. Please contact us before ordering if you require confirmation or would like to discuss a resin-printed base.
Can you print miniatures at a different scale?
Alternative scales may be possible depending on the model. Please message us before ordering so we can check the dimensions, durability and price. Enlarging or reducing a model may affect small details and connection strength.
How do shipping, combined postage and customs work?
We currently do not ship to EU destinations. For every other available destination, Etsy shows delivery options at checkout.
